It happens every time.  No sooner do we finish recording a podcast than I think of something else I want to say, or remember something I planned on talking about.  I’ve toyed with the idea of a regular blog series called “What I Meant to Say Was…” but have thus far resisted.  I want the podcast to stand on its own as the record of note as it were, that and laziness.  Mostly laziness.  But this time I am really kicking myself.  I feel certain that the little tidbit of information that slipped my mind  would have altered both the tone and direction of the show’s discussion.  Unfortunately we will never know for sure.   The anecdote goes as follows.

I saw Dark Shadows at my favorite theater, the Historic Cameo in Newberg, Oregon, a great little, old fashioned, independent movie house.  The family that runs it also runs the local drive-in.  I’m sure I’ve mentioned them on the show.  I think I’m sure…  Anyway, here’s a link - http://99w.com/  If you are ever in or near Newberg check them out, they deserve your business.  The Cameo often plays old silent films (as well as home movies of the construction of the drive-in and promos from the 50s & 60s ) before the feature.  In this instance they were playing Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s 1922 opus Nosferatu.  I went to see Dark Shadows and got almost twenty minutes of Nosferatu (they actually started Shadows about ten minutes late so Nosferatu could reach an act break), talk about a bonus.
